1. Who we are

ilovemoney.net is a free financial calculator and data platform operated independently. We provide tools for crypto investors, freelancers, FIRE chasers and digital nomads. Our website is located at ilovemoney.net.

2. What data we collect

Account data: When you create an account we collect your email address, display name, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.

Usage data: We track which calculators you use (anonymously) to improve our tools. We do not track your identity across sessions without an account.

Saved calculations: If you choose to save a calculation result, we store the inputs and outputs you provided. This data is private to your account.

Technical data: Standard server logs including IP address, browser type and page visited. These are retained for 30 days for security purposes.

3. How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • Provide and improve our calculators and tools
  • Save your calculation results to your account
  • Send price alerts you have configured (Pro plan)
  • Understand which tools are most useful
  • Prevent fraud and abuse

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Cookies

We use a single authentication cookie (ilovemoney_auth) to keep you logged in. This cookie is HttpOnly and Secure.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or any analytics platform that tracks users across sites.

5. Data retention

Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at privacy@ilovemoney.net. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

6. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

  • CoinGecko API — cryptocurrency price data. Your requests are proxied through our server; your IP is not sent to CoinGecko.
  • ExchangeRate-API — currency exchange rates. Rate data is fetched server-side once daily and cached.
  • Stripe — payment processing for paid subscriptions (when applicable). We never store your card details.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data via your account profile
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Export your saved calculations

8. Security

Passwords are hashed using BCrypt with a work factor of 12. All connections are encrypted with TLS. Authentication cookies are HttpOnly and Secure. We conduct regular security reviews.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be announced via email to registered users. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
